Poster Preparation

When thinking about different concepts for my film poster, I decided I wanted to use an object to represent an important moment as opposed to directly taking a shot during filming. Therefore, I took various photographs of a five pound note disguised as a roll up because, in my film, rebel Rachel is seen smoking weed while bunking off school. In addition, she asks her not-so-popular friend Steph to go and buy a packet of cigarettes for her. However, she shows a nicer side when she gives Steph £5 to buy herself some lunch as well as the fags. The finer details wouldn't be obvious to the audience viewing the poster but I wanted to create ambiguity  while conforming to the codes and conventions of the social realism genre.

This is the process I undertook to reach the final design.

^^^ I felt these photos weren't immediately recognisable a roll up in the style of a five pound note. There needed to be more in terms of representing certain themes and issues.

^^^ Therefore, I added the lighter which definitely helped in allowing the audience to understand the content of my poster. I chose the third photograph to edit primarily because I liked the way the objects were placed and appeared. It lead me to believe that I could represent my film in a way in which the audience would understand.

^^^ Final outcome after editing.
